You learned beginner trumpet stuff on a mellophone? I was forced to use like the beginning section of an old French horn book that you get for learning in elementary school music classes.Yeah haha. I thought trumpet stuff would actually work a bit better. It may be in Bb instead of F, but the overtone series on mellophone are essentially the same as trumpet (just a different feel if that makes sense) and that was something I needed work on when I started learning.

That makes sense. I just kind of used the old horn book to play the basic stuff then looked through old simple band pieces in the music library to practice with to get used to that feeling.
