Depends on where you march. At my first indoor line, I think it was like $400 and we were PIA. AQ was $900 and we were PIO, I’d imagine world class is a little more expensive.

is it a bad thing during an audition to take part of the audition music under tempo?

This is kind of a weird question, but there are probably like the shy, quiet people who march too, right? And are kind of left out and don't get care packages and stuff? I was wondering if I could send you a letter and then also send one for you to just pick a random person and give it to them because they're having a rough time or something because it might brighten their day. That’d be a pretty nice idea :) although it seems as though the quiet kids actually get the most care packages haha.

As a last question, how easily does a mellophone balance? I know every ensemble is different but since I've never played my mellophone on an ensemble I'm not sure if I'm practicing too loud or too soft. All I can say is tone isn't spreading but it's still decently loud. I think? I play a YMP-201 mellophone.

It can be pretty loud haha. If you have a lot of mellos (like 14 or more), you don’t need to play balls-loud since you have power in numbers and your tone cuts through. But balancing does get tricky sometimes.

If you have an exam or concert or something on a camp weekend, they understand and maybe you can come late or leave early. If you have to finish school or take exams or something during move-ins, most places will let you leave to do that.
